Max Gimblett, Painter
I am a proud New Zealander. We desire a flag that is us. That expresses to the world of Nations who we are. I wear my silver fern cap around the world. I want to stand by our flag and know that it is us, respected and standing for our steadfast values. I am a member of our New Zealand Diaspora and have endless opportunities to make the point that I am a New Zealander, as in the exhibition THE THIRD MIND at the Guggenheim museum. I have a painting and four etchings in this exhibition. Not only do I support this referendum of Lloyd Morrison's for a newly designed flag we may fly with honour, I have the strongest possible feelings about this endeavour. This time around I hope this referendum is passed.
